Lee and Dr. Eddie Cooper founded King’s Ranch in 2007 when God called them to open their home to children in their community who had been abused, neglected, and abandoned. The Coopers were married in December of 1990 and have six children—four biological children, Claira Alsup, Trey Cooper, Savannah McCarthy, and Leo Cooper as well as two children welcomed home through adoption, Jessa Cooper and Josiah Cooper.

Dr. Eddie Cooper is an Orthopedic Surgeon at NEA Baptist Hospital. He is also the Senior Pastor of Huntington Church, an inner-city church serving the most vulnerable in their community. Dr. Cooper serves as President of the King’s Ranch Board.

Lee Anne Cooper is a Therapeutic Parenting Specialist, the author of Unplowed Ground Therapeutic Parenting program, a Registered Nurse Practitioner, mom of six grown children, and “LeeLee” to seven little grandkids. Lee is also Senior Pastor’s Wife for Huntington Church, an inner-city church serving the most vulnerable in their community. Lee serves as the Vice President of the King’s Ranch Board, as well as on the King’s Ranch Staff as a Strategic Advisor and Unplowed Ground Content Creator.

Less than a year ago, our home was an unhappy and unsafe place. Our adopted son (6) was not responding to any type of parenting we tried and was defiant, aggressive, controlling his siblings and parents in many ways and beginning to run away from home when confronted.⁠ We had no idea what was wrong or where to find the help we desperately needed. It was a huge relief to have a friend recommend Unplowed Ground and offer hope.⁠ Within a few weeks of joining the jumpstart, our home was miraculously changed. Everyone was happier, everyone was safe, and our son's behaviors dramatically improved. Mom and Dad were empowered and everyone enjoyed the benefits of the techniques we learned.⁠ We are so grateful for what we have experienced. The chaos has truly been calmed! ⁠

We sought out King’s Ranch in a desperate effort to find help. We were accepted with open arms and found out that our experience wasn't so unusual after all! Oh the relief to discover that we were not alone. King’s Ranch took us in and helped us understand that there was hope! We went through Unplowed Ground and began to see how we could adjust our parenting and regain control of our home, our lives, and love our little boy through it all.
