At King’s Ranch, our mission is equipping families and restoring childhoods. With the recent crisis in our world developing daily over the Coronavirus, we wanted to take a moment to update our families, donors, church partners, and community on our response to COVID-19.
We want to express our care and concern for every member of our community and our world during this crisis. Every day at King’s Ranch we talk to families who are experiencing confusing chaos in their homes, due to their adopted or foster child’s early childhood trauma. Now, because of the Coronavirus and the worldwide health pandemic it has caused, millions of families who are otherwise healthy and peaceful are now experiencing confusion, and it can feel like chaos.
We are Believing
We believe that God is good (Psalm 34:8) and He is near (Psalm 145:18). We believe His love is faithful (Lamentations 3:22-23), and His Word is true (Proverbs 30:5; John 17:17). In a season when circumstances and statistics are changing faster than our ability to keep up, we believe that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).
And we believe that when we present our requests to Him in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, His peace which transcends all understanding will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7). We set our hope on Him. He is our peace.
We are Praying
We are praying for you. We believe it is the most important thing we can do. If you have a specific prayer request, our team would be honored to pray for you: just email us at info@kingsranch.net.
We are Equipping
Over the course of the next several weeks, our team will be releasing equipping content for families of all kinds who are raising children through this unprecedented crisis, including the following resources:

Families In Crisis
For Unplowed Ground families who find themselves in crisis, King’s Ranch will be considering limited Therapeutic Respite Care and Family Intensives at the Hogue Home on a case-by-case basis. Now more than ever, we are thankful for the secluded, peaceful setting of King’s Ranch and the peace we are able to provide families in crisis. If this is you, please reach out to us today.
Restore Moms Retreat
We are sad to announce that our favorite weekend of the year, the Restore Moms Retreat at King’s Ranch, is going to have to be cancelled in order to comply with the CDC’s limits on large in-person gatherings.
HOWEVER…
We are getting VERY EXCITED to announce that for the first time ever, King’s Ranch will be hosting a LIVE RESTORE MOMS VIRTUAL RETREAT for FREE, for any and all adoptive and foster moms across the world!
Look for details ASAP! And join us in praying that this very special opportunity reaches hundreds of moms with hope, with encouragement, and with the Gospel!
Thank you. Thank for your sacrificial support of the ministry of King’s Ranch. Thank you for answering God’s call to care for the orphan by supporting the family called to adopt. It is because of you that we can do what we do.
In addition to offering prayer and equipping for our community and our families during this time, here are some projects our team is working on, which we would LOVE for you to add to your Prayer List:
Unplowed Ground Baby (an equipping resource for families preparing to adopt infants)
Therapeutic Mentorship online training
The release of a children’s book, written by Lee Anne Cooper and illustrated by local artist Meagan Johnson
Launch of NEW Unplowed Ground Respite Training – online at the end of this week!
Launch of NEW Unplowed Ground Teacher Training – online by April 1!
Again, please let us know how we can be praying for you during this time. You can contact us anytime at info@kingsranch.net. We trust the God who is sovereign over all, and we thank Him for the gift of your friendship.
